HARLEY-DAVIDSON JAPAN:2016/06/07
Continuing from last year, we exhibited a VR experience using a real car at HARLEY-DAVIDSON BLUE SKY HEAVEN held at Fuji Speedway. This year, HTC VIVE was used for the HMD, and driving data from two Harley-Davidson V-RODs was fed back into the VR space. The experience content is a drag race with two V-RODs on the deck of an aircraft carrier. When the signal system, commonly known as the Christmas tree, turns green, aim at the goal with full throttle. There was also a reenactment of falling from the deck into the sea if the car did not slow down enough to cross the finish line, which was enjoyed by everyone. Also, the point of this challenge was how to reproduce the engine sound and vibration without starting the engine. Therefore, two super woofers are installed in the front and rear of the V-ROD body. An array speaker was installed under the vehicle body to reproduce the engine sound, and a vibration device floor shaker was installed to reproduce the vibration, and the real sound was pursued. It was a "roaring sound VR experience" that could only be done at the Fuji Speedway venue.
